María José joined the firm in 2013. She is experienced in commercial and real estate law. She advises real estate developers as they acquire, develop and sell land, and with the various forms of financing involved in each step of the development cycle. She also advises companies as they comply with commercial regulations and throughout internal and external audit procedures.
She obtained her Licentiate degree (JD equivalent) with a concentration in Financial Law from the University of Costa Rica (2011) and a Masters in Corporate Law (LL.M.) from NYU’s School of Law (2014), where she graduated as a Dean’s Scholar (Merit based scholarship). She also obtained a specialization in Notarial and Registral Law from the Universidad Latina’s Center for Graduate Studies (2013).
