José Manuel joined the firm in 1977. His professional activity has focused on attracting foreign investment in forestry, tourism and real estate development. Besides from corporate clients, he has represented non-governmental organizations involved in environmental protection.
He has also held positions as an external advisor on the management of strategic relationships between companies and groups of investors, workers’ organizations, creditors and government agencies. He served as Ambassador and Alternate Permanent Representative for Costa Rica before the United Nations in New York (1995-1997) and taught Public International Law in the University of Costa Rica and La Salle University Law Schools.
